Hi Jen,
You can't imagine how surprised I was to come across your post while researching my 2nd great grandfather William Lynn (1849-1923). So surprised I had to sign up and respond to your post. Sorry if it's lengthy.
I know exactly who your Sarah is.
Mary Lynn formerly Morse nee Smith (1858-1930) is my 2nd great grandmother; Mary & William were married 08 Sep 1879 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England in the Register Office in the District of Richmond; son Arthur William Lynn was born 3 months later 09 Dec 1879. This was a second marriage for both of them.
Mary Smith's first marriage was to Henry John Morse on 26 Oct 1875 in Stockton, Durham/Yorkshire, England in the Register Office in the District of Stockton; daughter Sarah Alice Morse was born 6 months later 28 Apr 1876.
William Lynn died 17 Jul 1923 in Great Ouseburn, Yorkshire, England; his wife Mary Lynn formerly Morse nee Smith died 08 Apr 1930 in Great Ouseburn, Yorkshire, England.
Henry John Morse was born 1854 Q3 in Northleach, Gloucestershire, England (Volume 6a, Page 311) to parents Charles and Sarah Morse. The only possible death record I have been able to find is:
Henry Morse
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1857
Registration Year: 1878
Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar
Age at Death: 21
Registration district: Northampton
Inferred County: Northamptonshire
Volume: 3b
Page: 58
although, I have no idea if this is the right one for Henry or not (Henry is not a direct ancestor of mine).
Sarah Alice Morse born 28 Apr 1876 in South Bank, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England (South Bank used to be known as Tees Tilery); 1901 Census: Domestic Maid, 45 Beaufort Gardens - Parish of Kensington, Ecclesiastical District of Holy Trinity - lived with & employed by Joseph H. Laye; Marriage to David Hay: 15 Dec 1906 in Great Ouseburn, Yorkshire, England; Death: 22 Jul 1959 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.
I have more information regarding William Lynn & Mary Smith and their parents. I also have more information on Sarah Alice Morse, her husband David Hay, and their son.
Hope this info helps. Also, I'm very curious as to how you & I are related since we share the same 2nd great grandparents. Looking forward to hearing from you. Hopefully we can exchange information with a view to confirm our family trees. Happy searching.
All the best,
Lynn
