Billy, born Middlesbrough, mid 40s? Completed.
« on: Tuesday 26 January 10 22:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I am looking for the birth of a Billy [probably William at reg.] born around the mid-40s. His mum's maiden name was Lamb and he could be either registered under Lamb [before marriage?], Crow [first marriage, 1943] or Brown [second marriage, 1946]. I am also searching for his death. He died in an accident in his teens, so possibly the late 50s, early 60s. Both birth and death probably in Middlesbrough but I'm just clueless to when exactly he was born, etc. ???

Any help would be very appreciated. :) :)

Thread completed - thanks to all who helped. :)

There is nothing showing for a William born Middlesborough from 1916 onwards with either of those mothers maiden names

Also searched under Bill**

Just found one - Middlesborough has been shortened - will pm details just in case it's the wrong one as birthyear does not fit with a marriage year above

There is a Percy W Crow born March Q 1944 Middlesbrough with mothers maiden name Lamb.  The W could be William....who'd stick with Percy?  ;)

If you find the record on tees Valley indexes and email m'bro asking if mum's name was 'Alice' or whatever it was they will tell you yes or no so you can see if it's the right one before you buy the cert.

Ooooh. :o 8)

Carole and madpants, thank you so much for your help.

That Percy birth is spot on, I think. Would have been his father's name and born after his father's death in the war. :'( Didn't think he would be registered under that, so no wonder I'm not finding much.

Not too sure about Perce now as Percy William Crow born 1944 died M'bro 1977 which would make him 33 not late teens.  Are you sure it was late teens ? :-\

Hi,

Nope, I'm definitely not sure of him being in his teens when he died. :-\ I do definitely think that's his birth though (names and dates match) so it would seem this is likely to be him. The details I had were family story - not exact - so I expect they could be off at bits [as usual ;D].
