A ha!  Excitement!  This is starting to get to me! 
Might go to bed in a minute...have a feeling this could be a bad night...my Nanna is in hospital and she's not at all well.     She was 95 on Tuesday and doesn't really know what's happening anymore, but she is Emily Brown's daughter.  Oh, how I wish I'd asked more a long time ago...

Hi Annie,

I haven't applied for her birth certificate - that was my next step.  What do I need to do?

Sadly it's just a matter of time for my Nanna now...I'll be jumping every time the phone rings over the next couple of days... As dreadful as it sounds, she has Alzheimer's so it will actually be a relief for both her and us when she lets go.  Onto a better place I hope - she taught me sums and let me watch The Simpsons at her house when I was younger so she deserves to!

Just to let you know I'm thinking of Nanna !

You can't get a birth certificate from Pennsylvania they didn't start till 1906 so you have to go to the archives of each county......and there's a load of them -  try looking on NARA and this site we could divvie up the counties and just go through like that -  I'm sure we could get some others to help us !!

Hi Annie,

Didn't see that reply come in!!  Sarah was born Sarah Campbell, Father David Campbell.

Nanna seems to have perked up a bit today - there is even talk of her going back to the home.  Although the end still seems to be nigh, she seems to be putting it off!
