***COMPLETED**Lookup-Burial place of Alexander Easton and family
« on: Monday 12 April 10 07:56 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please help find the burial place of Alexander Easton b. 1804 Abbotshall,Kirkcaldy and his wife Margaret Simpson b. 1806 Kirkcaldy and their family?

I don't know where they were married...probably Dysart as that is where they and their children were born.

Children: Margaret b. 1825 Dysart
               James      b. 1827 Dysart
               Alexander b. 1834 Dysart
               John        b. 1836 Dysart
               Elizabeth b. 1838  Dysart
               David       b. 10 Feb 1840 Kirkcaldy    d. 3 June 1893 Lochee
               Helen       b. 1843 Abbotshall, Kirkcaldy
               Andrew   b. 1846 Kirkcaldy
               Henry      b. 1849

I did a FreeCen search and couldn't find the family in any of the Censuses.  Given life in those times I am sure not all the children lived to adulthood.

Thanks so much weemanswife......I believe those are indeed my family of Eastons.

Could I bother you for just a little bit more information?  Did the census say what Alexander's occupation was, or that of the son's or daughters if they had an occupation?

Could you please tell me Henry's wife and children's names?

I am a descendant of David but no idea whether his siblings died young, lived to be old or married and had families.

I tried to find them on FreeCen but didn't have any luck!  I am trying to find my  mother's roots in Scotland but I live in Canada!!

Hi

According to the census Alexander Easton b abt 1804 was a Weaver. Young Alexander was also a weaver as was his brother John.

David was a Finith (there may have been a error in the transcription here. Andrew was a gardener and Helen a weaver.   In the 1881 census Henry is a coach fitter, his eldest child is a Marble Polisher.
His wife's name is Janet.

Have you tried the SP site - www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk.  It is a pay-to-view site.

Have you heard of the Rohrbach family.  That's the tree I found on Ancestry and according to that tree Henry was married three times.

Hi,

Back again.  In the 1891/1901 cesuses Henry and Janet are living at 35 Caledonian Cres., Edinburgh, Midlothian.   In 1891 Henry is a coach fitter (iron works) and in 1901 he is a contractor.
In 1891 census there is another 2 children both are given as David but in 1901 the youngest is Andrew.

Weemanswife:

Could I ask a big favor...could you post the information as shown on the 1891é1901 census for the above Eastons.

Or possibly steer me in the right direction if they are free to search on line.

thanks for your help
