Informant on Death Cert

On my g grandmother's death cert,the informant is E Carter,"Killarney",Kirby Cross,Essex.My g granmother was Isabella Edith Lascelles and she died 23 12 1931 in London.I have been trying to find her daughter,Emma Edith Laura Ford who has vanished after the 1901 census.I have looked for a marriage and death and searched passenger lists.My last hope is that E Carter might be Emma Ford.Does anyone know if this address still exists and if there might be any records of this place?Any help much appreciated.

You mention a will but do you mean Emma was informant on the death cert, is Emma shown on the will as a beneficiary

Hi louisa,My mistake! Wrote post in a hurry and should have re read it before posting it! E Carter is the informant on the Death Cert.Have not as yet got Isabella's will but that might be the next step I think.Just wondered if anyone local to that area know of a house by that name.

Firstly am I right in thinking that your g grandmother is the Isabella E Ford who died aged 77 in Hammersmith. Secondly are you able to give us a few more details. What else does the death cert record ie wife of, etc.  What 1901 census ref have you got and where does the name Lascelles enter the search.

Hi John,Yes,Isabella E Ford died 23 12 1931,widow of Lascelles Wharton Ford.They had three childrenEdward Wharton Ford 1877,Eire,Emma Edith Laura 1878,London and Barnett Philip 1880.I have found them on most census returns except Isabella ,Emma and Edward on the 91 - Barnett was in school in Kent for that one.I have Isabella and Emma on the 1901,and Isabella on the 1911.I seem to have lost Emma after 1901! Can't find a death or marriage for her.Edward married in 1900 and I have him on the 1901 then he went to S Africa,he was a civil engineer.His brother Barnett was in S A too.Its Emma that is annoying me!

If I was visiting the ERO I would look this address up for you a few years either side of the date you give, hopefully a kind person might just do that for you even if it eliminates her  as a daughter.
I would seriously think about a will
I wonder if Emma took off to South Africa to be with her siblings

Hi Louisa,What a surprise! I never had any reason to look for a 4th child but she certainly seems to be another daugther in the family.I wonder what happened to her?She is not with Isabella and Emma in 1901.Will check this out,thank you!If you can find out anything about the address in Kirby Cross I would be most grateful.Do you know how I can get a copy of Isabella's Will?

Have just seen address re Will! Also,I may have just found Winifred's death - she's shown as Winefrede Frances M Ford March 1/4 1883 Fulham.She must have died not long after her father.Might send away for death cert to prove this one!
