Hi Margaret, yes there was an inquest, it was held in Oldham but there appears to be no record of it held in the town other than what the local paper (the Oldham Chronicle) said at the time:
'On Sunday, Mr Ernest Millington (65), of 2, No 4 Court, Hobson Street, Oldham, went on a day trip to Blackpool. Next day he was found dead. At Tuesday's inquest the Oldham Coroner (Mr. J. L Watson) Recorded a verdict of suicide by coal gas poisoning while the balance of his mind was disturbed. Mrs Elizabeth James, of Waterloo Street, told the Coroner that her brother was troubled with blood pressure, and had never seemed to recover from an injury sustained at work. When she last saw him he seemed quite all right.'
The family back then were Church of England.
Dotty, Jane was aged 30 in 1915 on the marriage certificate so i suppose it depends on that Jane Millingtons year of death, it does seem a good possiblity doesnt it. Is 8d 914 the reference for the death?
Thankyou both for youe time and effort, luke
