Hello, I'm attempting to connect with folks who may know of Samuel Liggett, born approx. 1816 in Armagh - married a Elisabeth Morehead and had two girls, Sarah and Agnes, before traveling to Canada in/about 1845/1846 or so. In Canada, the family was primarily located in the Ontario region, in a town of Hope/Durham.

I find many Liggett names in the region but can not confirm accurate data.  Agnes was my great/great grandmother and I'd love to uncover more.  I've been to the area, as my husbands father's family is from the same area.

Thank you!

Hello Liggett families or helpers - I'm seeking information on my 3x great grandmother, Agnes Liggett (b. 1842) - her parents were Samuel & Elisabeth (Morehead) Liggett (or Ligget).  They have noted Armagh and then Cork as potential birth place - seemingly came to Canada in 1846.  They lived in Hope Township.  I'm having a difficult time identifying which Ligget or Liggett family they belong too - I've done my DNA on Ancestry but have not found enough to tell the story!  Thank you.

Thank you - I see the census year of 1911 - however, if Samuel is from the Armagh family of Liggett's he would have been born much earlier.  His daughter, Agnes - born 1842.  Thanks!
