Jewish family immigration

Hunter family from Poland
Hi, not sure the best board to post this on so I will try here first.
I am looking for a family for a friend and new to Jewish lines and immigration.
Isidore Hunter Born 1881 Libau Russian res (from 1911 census mile end)
Married Fanny Levy June 1903 Whitechapel reg office (not sure why not in Shul)
His father Myer Hunter (deceased) Boot Manufacturer.
Philip Hunter Born 1886  Married Hilda (Golda) Goldstein Apr 1916 Mile End Reg office (again not sure why in reg office) (same details for father Myer)
David Hunter mar Rachel Goldstein Apr 1919 St Geo in the East Reg office.(father same)
As I cant find David or Philip in 1911 census I assume they came after then.
I did find Isidore & Philip in the naturalization index. April 1920 both called OCHOTNIK know as Hunter. (I have tried searching by that name and nothing comes up. If I can order the records from KEW would they tell my any more?
I did once find a family tree with the same names on it but that one states the Hunter name was formally “KOPNIKOV” I tried emailing but got no reply.
I have searched Jewishgen but not a great deal of luck at the mo.
So I thought I should try the Immigration route to see if that shows anything. But not sure how to search ships etc.
Thanks for any pointers

The naturalisation records from Kew may give you more useful information - e.g. might give birth dates, parents' names, confirmation of exact birthplace.
www.movinghere.org.uk has some examples in their digitised records if you search for "naturalisation" so you can see what you're likely to get before you buy.

Incoming passenger lists from Europe were not routinely kept. You may have some luck with outgoing records from Europe depending where they sailed from.

http://www.liepajajews.org/cem/CemIndex.htm
  - there is a burial in 1912 here of a Ester OCHOTNIK.

Thank you so much for the tips.
I will try and get to KEW one day, I got an estimate to copy the 2 doc's and it was £80.00 I have no idea how they can justify that  ???
I looked at the one from the link you sent & think it is exactly what I need.
Also thank you for the other link. V interesting to see that at least the name comes up there.
Many thanks

Den,

I think the word is EUREKA!

A search of the JewishGen SIG message archives revealed that a member of the Latvian SIG has transcribed and translate many of the vital records of Libau/Libava/Liepaja.

The surname in Russian was Охотник = Okhotnik and it means hunter.

Itzik Okhotnik was born on 9 Dec 1880, circumcised on 16 Dec. He was the son of Meier Okhotnik and Miriam Levius.

If you do a google search for 'OKHOTNIK LIBAVA' and 'LEVIUS LIBAVA', you'll find the records for several more family members on www.premiumorange.com

E.g. Philip Hunter = Fishel Okhotnik, b. 25 Jul 1884

Happy hunting  :)

Hi Hilary
When I get back to my laptop I will see the link.
On this one I only have the basic tree.
Did you mean Fanny Levy (born 1885) = Isadore huner (son of Meyer)
