See my modification to my post. A 1908 birth would fit with the marriage I found although I agree it may be a bit young for the Edward I found in 1901.

There is a marriage registered in 1906 between a Matthew Barnes and Margaret Graham at Dunbarton.

This looks like Margaret and family in 1901 at Renton (from Ancestry)

Yes, on Friday. Problem is once I start I can't stop and this isn't for me. I already used up 60 credits and as I'm in Australia the exchange rate isn't crash hot.

I gave in and purchased the Barnes/ Graham marriage cert, 1906.

It very clearly says Barnes. How would Barnes have become Barron, if this is the correct cert?

All other things seem to fit.

1911 - census
Mathew Barron 31 Boiler rivetter - Shipbuilding yard worker - Born Ireland
Margaret 28 born Renton, Dumbartonshire, as were the children
Robert 4       
Margaret 2 - born 66 Alexander St, Alexandria - Parish of Bonhill

On the Barnes cert it has Matthew as a rivetter Journeyman. However, he is only 23. His parents names were Robert and Ann.Matthew and Margaret had first son named Robert and second daughter named Ann.

So, is it the correct ceretificate?
