Hi agree with all of that, but could the witnesses have the surname USHER?

Do not know what the first line means though!

Yes, marriage at Cowra  (it is in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia)

I have asked Stephen to post this snip, so that we can help determine the names of the witnesses to the marriage.  So that in turn I can help follow up on the witnesses to see if they were family/friends of the families of the bride or groom.    I have some off line resources for that particular area of NSW in that era.   The snip is all in the handwriting of the Rev'd or his clerk, and is based on a summary of the transmitted record forwarded to the HO of the NSW BDM Registrar General's office in Sydney.

I am particularly  interested in the surname/s of the witnesses ...  my resources are hardcopy and by surname, and I can read that the witnesses were William (someone) and Sarah (someone) .... I think their surnames are the same as each other, BUT as to what the initial letter is ....  Ummm....  I am at a loss on that .....   Most likely it is "M" as in the Rev'd was Simpson MILLER ...

Cheers,  JM
