Sarah Jane Green & William Goodwin
« on: Wednesday 05 October 11 16:20 BST (UK) »
I`m now looking for the Goodwin family.  Sarah Jane Green married William Goodwin at the Linacre Mission, Litherland, Liverpool on 2/8/1919.   They had 2 children, Violet born 28/5/1920 & William b 15/8/1921 & they lived at 27 Seymour Road Liverpool.   William`s occupation on marriage was a general labourer & Sarah wasn`t working.   Her parents were Wm John & Sarah Jane of 74 Cosgrove st., Belfast & his father was Henry Goodwin, watchman of 22 Tattesall Road, Litherland.   Thanks

I've split this post off the other thread and will move to Lancashire board since that is where the Goodwin family lived.

From a source of information whose name we dare not type I can say that Henry was born abt 1859 in Liverpool, the wife was Mary Elizabeth Goodwin born abt 1858 in Liverpool. William was born abt 1890 in Litherland and there were three sisters in the house.

They were still at 22 tattersall st, litherland in 1911.

In 1901 they're at 22 tattersall st, litherland. The father is a timber carter and the mother is down as born in Manchester.
RG13, 3449, 73, 47.

In 1891 he they're at 11 Solomon st, liverpool. Father's a fish carter and the mother is back to being born in Liverpool (or west derby , rather).
RG12, 2991, 148, 41.

In 1881 they're at 10/12 court, richmond st, liverpool. Henry is a carter and the mother was born in Manchester again. The eldest son here is an Edwin J Goodwin*#.
RG11, 3631, 113, 35.

A Henry Goodwin may have married a Mary Elizabeth Campbell Q1 1880, Liverpool, Vol 8b p165.

There's two likelys on the 1871.

Either it's the Henry living with his married sister Henrietta who was born in Dublin married to master mariner Julius A Hahn from 'Hamburgh', Germany.
RG10, 3778, 57, pages 24 & 25.

Or it's the Henry at 5 Great Howard st, Liverpool, son of Edwin Goodwin*, refreshment house keeper, aged 36 born in Congleton, Cheshire married to Elizabeth also born in Congleton aged 35.
RG10, 3771, 133, 4.

Personally I think the second is most likely because of the re-usage of a slightly uncommon name but a marriage certificate would prove it unless anyone has any better ideas?

#His baptism info is on lan-opc.org.uk
