although there is an 1880 US census for one born 1853. he is a miner living in Black Hawke Colorado. However no image available and just says born England.

Hi Carole, Did not realise their were so many Atkinson's up there, we are only a very small branch of the family here.
Jeremiah was born in 1852 at Newcastle upon tyne (10b 74)
His father was Robert and Mary was still married in 1881. Thanks
