COMPLETED THANKS - Teagle, Edward John -born 1917 Merthyr

Hello all,

I'm helping my friend to find her ancestors which now takes us to Wales.

Edward John Teagle was born about 1917 and I've found a BMD registration for 1st qtr 1917 in Merthyr Tydfil.
We have his marriage cert. which gives his age of 25, and father as Henry John Teagle (deceased) Electrician.

Would anyone be able to find his baptism, please?  My friends father refused to talk about his family so
little is known other than they came from Wales.


Any help will be very welcome

Looking at FreeBMD I see that the mother's maiden name for Edward John is Nicholls
There is a marriage for a John Harry Teagle on the same page as  a Dorothy Nicholls registered at Cardiff Glamorganshire vol 11a page 752 Sept 1/4 1904.

Many thanks for that entry. That confirms what I had originally thought was the correct
line to follow.
We're hoping we might be able to get a birth/bapt. date without purchasing his cert. if at all possible
at this stage.
The marriage you have found is a possible. But as his marriage cert. says Henry John Teagle there's
just a chance there may be another marriage somewhere - not on FreeBMD. I do admit though,  it looks as they could be the parents.

I wonder if a census lookup for 1901 & 11 might prove beneficial in locating his father.

I wouldn't get too hung up about the order of first and second names John Henry/Henry John.  Harry/Henry also interchangeable.

I'll see what I can see in the censuses.
