Where did you get her birthyear from?

The marriage between James Yates & Elizabeth Simpson was in 1836 according to the IGI so she would only have been 15yrs old at that time

Have you verified it via James jnr's marriage cert?

have that census know carolew 1851 thanks know to try and find him on a 41 census

no was just looking througth census and family member came up with this but not sure if this is rigth carolew

You need to check James jnr's marriage cert before proceeding any further.  You could be on completely the wrong track

There is an 1841 entry for James Yates 30 and Elizabeth 20 with a 1yr old dtr Ann living in Dunfermline

Ages from 16yrs upwards were rounded down in 1841 so Elizabeth could have been between 20 - 24yrs old

have searched for a marriage cert for james jnr but cant find one carolew had posted thred regarding his wife or partner ellen or nellie ross or clark but cant find anything relating to a marriage for these,thanks for the information need to look futher in to this to comfrim this regards davidpaul.
