Looking for any information on my great grandfather William Elliott born in southwark London. He married Sarah Jane Jones on 30/05/1896 in Birmingham. Census records says he was born in 1863, but age at marriage to Sarah shows he was 40 years and a widower, which makes his birth date around 1856! which birthdate should I  take? In 1911 census he is a widower, Sarah died about march 1911. Last know address was Wavertree Rd Liverpool UK. Would like to know when and where he died, also if he was a widower how will I find out who is his first wife was?

Father's name?

Thank you for your prompt reply I still very new at all this.
The marriage certificate  shows Sarah as 30 years old and a spinster.
His profession is a plumber
Residence at time of marriage is 56 hucklery Hill Birmingham
His father name was William Elliott deceased and his fathers profession was a commercial traveller.
