Thomas Gladwin b 1846 Burton on Trent
« on: Tuesday 05 February 13 11:24 GMT (UK) »
Please can anyone help me find out Thomas Gladwin's parents? He was born around 1846 in Burton on Trent and is in the 1861 census as a Drummer in the Royal Navy on board the Neptune in Malta Harbour. By the 1881 Census his place of birth has changed to Littleover, Derbyshire. From the map, they don't look to be far apart. I cannot find him in the 1851 census which would probably have helped me find his parents. Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks! :)

Thank you Tina - I have all of the censuses apart from 1851, so cannot tell who his parents might have been. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them. Catherine

if the Derbyshire place of birth is correct there's a Thomas Gladwin birth registered in Bakewell Q1 1842. No mother's maiden name - suggesting illegitimate
