I think you are right, we went from Mcshane to McIlaney, thanks for all your help.

Looking good for McIlaney  ;D Well done!

Had a quick check on Family search and it looks like Michael Lamont is still alive in 1861 as he is on that years Census still in West Parish Greenock!

Really have to go out now!
