There's a "deceased estate" for W Wright Taitt who died at Wallerang in 1914 at NSW state archives too.
http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/indexsearch/searchhits.aspx?table=Deceased%20Estates&ID=15&query=taitt&frm=0

They aren't actually probate packets (which contain lots of documents including death certs etc) so we may be a little disappointed.  They are on microfilm and  sometimes deceased estate files just have the amount of duty to be paid.  :(

On NSW BDM for William W Taitt's death in 1914 it says that parents are Charles WW and Jane.

cheers,
   Ros

thanks Neil - but sadly I recall I found a death certificate for unnamed child 1864 also.  Or I may be confused I have looked at a lot of records in the last few days :(

Thanks Ros - Yes I have just re-looked at the W W-T death certificate so it looks as tho he was the missing brother after all !!

it is not unusual, I guess, to not have had the birth correctly registered - my wife's grandmother who is 1 of 7 and some where in the middle of the 7 is missing a birth certificate yet her family know & photos show she was there all the time !!

Kind regards from what is now a wet Eastern Sydney :)

Tim

Ros,

Are you able to research the following citation and tell me what it says in 1861 about Charles William Wright TAITT.....hopefully that his sentence has been remitted!!!   I noticed in an earlier posting you seemed to have access.

State Records Authority of New South Wales, Police Gazettes 1862-1930, Roll 3608, p.3.

Sadly, my Ancestry subscription does not allow me access to the actual document.

For the moment, my thanks.

Tony

Hello,

I've just stumbled across these posting and, if it's not too late to help, I may be able to clarify some issues.  My name is William (Bill) Beale, and I'm a great-grandson of Charles William Wright Taitt.  I'm the son of Gladys Beale nee Wright Taitt, who was the daughter of William and Grace Wright Taitt (both buried at Wallerawang cemetery).  William was the son of Charles William Wright Taitt.  I have a copy of a letter, sent back to the UK by Charles, claiming an inheritance alluded to in a previous post.  This letter outlines Charles' background in the UK.

Hello Bilbie,

I would be extremely interested in gaining sight of this particular letter, especially since I have now completed his Biography for my database from information passed to me from various contributors since opening this thread.   I am especially grateful to another of his Great Great Grandsons, Timothy Christian, with whom I assume you have already exchanged details.

I will try and send you a Personal Message with my email address so that you contact me......giving out such information through this open forum is forbidden for obvious reasons.   If the Personal Message "fails" to reach you please let me know here and I shall see what I can arrange.

For the moment,

Tony Cocks

Bilbie needs to make a couple more posts before the PM system kicks in. Simple, just a couple of little one's on here would do.

Thanks Tony, Neil,
Unfortunately your email didn't make it, Tony.  The hyperlink reported, 'Error has occurred - you are not allowed to send personal messages'.  This is my first introduction to such a forum and I gather I'm not permitted to post my email address.  Can I post my web site address which has a Contact page?  I have not contacted Tim but, if we can establish contact, I'm quite happy to pass on what I have.  (I regret to say that what I have on the family background is little more than a MS Word document consisting of random notes) In regard to the letter by Charles Wright Taitt, the copy I have is a photocopy (obviously made in more recent years) faded and hard to read in places.  I did type a copy some years back but, what with several generations of replacement computers, I'm having trouble locating the typed reproduction.  I'll re-type it again and can send copies of both.
