Stephen,

Wow, if you can find out anything it would be much appreciated!

My Gran, Eleanor, did indeed move to Scotland - Johnstone in Renfrewshire.  She died in 1996.  My Dad was born in Llanberis at Goodman Street and spent his first few years there before moving to Scotland.

I have vague memories of coming to Llanberis as a child myself with my parents in the seventies for a visit - I'm sure we stayed at Aunt Nancy's in Goodman Street.  Nancy died in 2005.

Thanks very much - anything you can provide no matter how trivial, would be a great help!

Deirdrie784

Thanks so much for all of the info - that helps now that I know none of the children were around in 1911 so won't appear on any census results.

Just need to establish when Richard and Elizabeth were married to determine whether they would appear in the same household or not.

Thanks again   :)

Hi Paul,
Had a visit to Llanberis on Sunday and asked a few questions about No 21.

Dad has a vague memory unfortunately. He does remember Elizabeth, she was great friends with my great grandmother, they shared the same marital name Elizabeth Williams. What he does remember is that she had calipers on her legs. He also said that Robert (Robin) her son lived at number 19 Goodman street.

I had a look through memorial Inscriptions for the local cemetery at Nant Peris today. Unfortunately I did not find much.

Robert Williams died 24th May 1960 aged 42 and lived at 19 Goodman Street ( I don't think he had any children)

Could not find any Inscription for Richard Williams which could fit

Did find one inscription "E.Wms 21 Goodman st."

I will look through the burial register next Wednesday when the Archives office opens late

regards

Stephen

Stephen,

thanks so much that's brilliant, and much appreciated.  :)

I think I may now have found Richard on the 1911 census.  There's a Richard Williams aged 24 with a street address of Cidenbern in Llanberis?  His occupation is Railway Engine Stoker so it's looking very likely and he's single and about the right age.  I'm looking into the marriage of Richard Williams to Lizzie Roberts in 1913 that Roger mentioned earlier.

Other household members are

Thomas (Head)
Ann (Wife)
Ann (Daughter)
William (Son)
Henry (Grandson)

Thanks to everyone with the help and guidance so far!!

Hi,
these are my family. I am the great grand-daughter of Anne Williams who was Richard Williams' sister. I have quite a lot of information including the parish record for Richard's burial and a newspaper cutting recording his accidental death.
My mother remembers your grandmother (Anti Linor) and is still in contact with family from Scotland (Xmas cards!)
Let me know what you need and I'll check if I have it, some things I will have to scan and forward to you. My family tree is on Genes Reunited if you are on it?

regards
Pat
