Thanks, I have just looked on the MI - lots of useful info.  A long time between birth and baptism, is this typical at this time?

I wouldn't say it was typical at the time, but it is a possibility.

It may be worth trying to find when her parents were married, Wymondham PR's are available online, it may be a different Susan altogether.

The Susan you are looking for may have been born/baptised in Carlton Rode but there are so many gaps in the AT's you need to check the Parish Records

I would say that a gap of 9 years between birth and baptism-given the risk of child mortality and the belief that baptism was necessary in order get to heaven- was very unusual.
There are a number of Parsons baptisms in Carleton Rode in the 1740s/50s. None for a Susan-though there is a mother called Susan/Susannah among the parents. http://freereg.rootsweb.com/cgi/SearchResults.pl?RecordType=Baptisms&RecordID=2920638
It may be worth checking the PRS as your Susan's records may not have been transcribed.

Parish records-Family search have some records online, https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1&region=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND
They take a bit of trawling through, but can be useful and you can also see where there are gaps in the original records.
If you can't find what you're looking for, you may need to request a look-up.
