thank you Keyboard86 I did see that I think the Scott side I will be able to trace back farther but the benstead side is confusing me as its split between Cambridge and Claygate surrey. I need to tie the connection dad said Christopher benstead lived also in Claygate I do remember visit them as a young child in Foley road. but I don't know how to connect the two counties.

That Christopher could be the one I showed with daughter Ellen aged 6 in 1901 he was born c 1863 Swaffham Prior and looks to be the one who dies Dec qtr 1948 Surrey N 5g 385 aged 84?

I will I know there was a falling out in the family I would like if possible to find out. it might be because my granddad was married and started a family with Ellen benstead her family might have disowned her.

Hi again, not at all certain their was a "falling out" as in the Electoral Rolls for Epsom 1931 as an example their was a Christopher Benstead snr with a Mary Ann and Stanley at Ruxley Lodge Stables, Christopher jnr is their in other years?

Also the 1937 Electoral rolls for Epsom shows an Albert John? Scott Ellen Scott with a Christopher Benstead snr Mary Ann & Stanley at Ruxley Lodge Stables

Hi again, just to show their looks to be no falling out, in the 1945 Electoral Roll for Redhill, Common Road at 359 were Christopher & Mary Ann Benstead and at 360 Albert J Scott & Ellen, in a couple of Electoral Rolls I have looked at for Albert he looks to be calling himself Albert John Scott?

I have just looking thank you so much. I am getting some where now but still can't tie granny (ellen benstead) I will need to send for her birth cert as I can't find her on 1911 census. it might be Stanley was her cousin not brother.
