Thanks for that Chris.
I am interested in the John in Shropshire, possibly.
All I know is John's father was William. I can't fid him for sure in 1881, there is one in Willenhall but I don't think he is mine.
I have him in 1891 and 1901.

Could you post ALL the 1881 details and then I'll see if I can find them in the 1871.

Hi,
These are the details from 1881 but I think the first is not mine for reasons that are too long to explain. Could be but large element of doubt. The second could be but no father so not sure. That's why I hoped I could find him in 1871.
Cheers,
John

Morning! Thought I would start with the easy one, even if it is no help!

RG10-2942/4
Willenhall, Ecc dist St Gyle's
Clarks Lane
7 Private H
William Lloyd,head,m,37,coal miner,Shropshire,Ironbridge
Martha Lloyd,wife,m,35,Shropshire,Beaseley
William H Lloyd,son,14,coal miner,Shropshire Beaseley
Thomas E Lloyd,son,9,scholar,shropshire,Ironbridge
John Lloyd,son,6,scholar,Staffordshire,Willenhall
Hannah Lloyd,dau,4,scholar,Staffordshire,Willenhall
Richard Lloyd,son,1,Staffordshire,Willenhall
William Morris,boarder,unm,24,coal miner,Shropshire,Wellington
Issac Jones,boarder,unm,24,coal miner,Shropshire,Wellington

Plenty of other Lloyds on this Piece but not the other John. Ran through RG10-2943 too but no joy. Sorry, Willenhall is a bit too big to search it all ???

Couldn't see him in Cheslyn Hey either.

Yes that is the same family as in 1881 but as I say I don't think that is the family.
I was wondering if the Charles Lloyd could be found in case that is his brother?

Cheers,
John

I didn't see Charles either. I presume that the birth places Cheslyn Hay/Bloxwich are off the 1891 and 1901 census? Then I would query the 1881 with Willenhall as the birth place. It is a bit out of the way and if you make a triangle with those 3 places it is a huge area to cover without a name index and no address to go by!
Do you have an occupation for William? Any chance of finding him on the 1881?
Sorry I can't help more at this stage.
