I don't understand ..her family (and a past researcher that's heloed me here and there) all say laura ran away from her first hubby  and kids (& never saw them again) for this R A Allan she also died under Allan how then could she of of not lived with him? Or who did she live with I wonder if not R A Allan? Her kids say she left when hey youngest was born in 1941 word has it maybe Heslesville. Thankyou for pointing out R A Allan's parents.

I would suggest getting a copy of her death certificate and seeing what that says. If she left home c1941 then she could well have remarried and/or had more children, the death certificate may answer some of your questions.

The Electoral Rolls still have her residing with her husband up until at least 1954 but that could be because nobody told the Electoral Office that she did not live there, and Laura did not notify them of a change of address which, if she had fled, would not be unusual. The first sighting of her with the Allan surname is 1963 which is over 20 years after she left home.

"J" was born in 1947 and she was only a baby when Laura Left.

But now

Her kids say she left when hey youngest was born in 1941

So was  it 1947 or 1941? 

I doubt Laura would have been listed on the 1954 roll is she hadn't voted in 1949 using that address. If you fail to vote using a particular address, as the roll is marked, you are usually removed from the roll. 

National Library of Australia has microfiche of the 1941, 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961 Victorian rolls.

However please remember that the information on the certificate is only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

It is difficult to validate family stories without some form of documentation.  Family stories can become distorted over the years.

So can the person either scan and email you a copy of the certificate or transcribe it for you or at least give the evidence from the certificate of the R* A* ALLAN.
