              I'll forgive you, many wouldn't.  As mi' old Ma used to say. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you look at my link you will see many interesting facts and pictures of the houses and

streets. My grandparents and my father lived on the next street to your relatives at the

          same time. Small world.

Yes masymas we did get there (co-coinciding with a Doncaster Rovers home game who my husband still supports).  Yes a lot changed over the years and no the property no longer there.  We had our lunch in the local pub in Denaby and have since read about the place in the book 'Black Diamonds'.

Thanks for the maps stan, had forgotten you could do this with the nls.

Pheno

Thats great, yes shame there is no old properties left. I will try and find that book you named. It would be interesting to read.

Thanks
Andy

I always use this site if you don't mind second hand books :-

                      https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?bsi=90&sortby=17&tn=black%20diamonds&prevpage=5

Be careful there are many books titled black Diamonds. You want :-

' Black Diamonds: The Rise and Fall of an English Dynasty '

                      It's a good read. :D :D :D

Yes, no problem with used books. I think I have found the correct one and was just reading about the miners strike and their evictions very interesting. Will definitely obtain a copy. Thanks Tomkin!

The USA site may be more suitable. ??? ??? ???

        https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&cm_sp=SearchF-_-home-_-Results&kn=&an=&tn=Black+Diamonds&isbn=

Just scroll down.   The books I normally get are often in 1st class condition.
