Coxon, Coxen - Twickenham
« on: Wednesday 29 July 15 14:01 BST (UK) »
I am re-searching the Coxens who were related to Richard Enos Coxen born about 1812 in Twickenham who married Mary Ann Snook 27 Apr 1836 Heston, Middlesex.

Date of Richard's birth no known

I came across these Topics:

Now I am trying to find out if William Coxen & Mary Ann Headington had any children. They married 1 Nov 1840 in Petersham, Surrey.

Also, all the children of John Coxen & Emma Hammerton who married 20 Jun 1847 at St. Mary's Twickenham.

Any further Information would be of interest as well.

A tree on A..ty suggest that William & Mary Ann had 4 children:

This from 1851 census:

William Coxen   36
Mary Coxen   27
William Coxen   10
Eliza Coxen   5
Caroline Coxen   3

HO107/1698/421 Page: 46

They have a death for William in 1858 & Mary Ann in 1861

A tree on A..ty suggests that Richard & Emma had 9 children:

This from 1871 census:

John Coxen   47
Emma Coxen   44
George Coxen   14
Elizabeth Coxen   12
James Coxen   10
Richard Coxen   7
Ellen Coxen   5
Alice Coxen   3

RG10/1315/97 p 31

Not shown: John (1848), Frederick George (1850-887), Emma (1851).

They also suggest that John had a child (Fanny 1855) with another unknown woman, based on this 1881 census:

John Coxen   53  (widower)
Fanny Coxen   26
Ellen Coxen   17
Alice Coxen   14
James Coxen   20
Richard Coxen   18
Eva Taylor             1  (granddaughter)

The Tree got at least one thing wrong - Fanny was the daughter of John & Emma, found her baptism 20 Aug 1854 St Mary the Virgin, Twickenham.

Have found a marriage for an Emma Coxen to a Thomas Taylor Dec Qtr 1876 Kensington 1a 135.

Can't find an 1881 census but believe that this may be them in 1891:

Household Members:
Name   Age
Thomas Taylor   42
Emma Taylor   39
Elisabeth Taylor   13
Eva Taylor   11
Thomas Taylor   10
Rebecca Taylor   8
William Taylor   5
Alma Taylor   3

Source Citation
Class: RG12; Piece: 448; Folio: 91; Page: 13;

Eva is with them on this census.

I think that you are right with the 1891 census with Eva Taylor and parents.

I had seen that Fanny was the daughter of John & Emma, found on FreeBMD.
The baptism info is helpful, I have none for the Family.
