children orphaned
« on: Saturday 26 September 15 14:33 BST (UK) »
still working that there family (sssh)

and just come across the sad death of parents within weeks of each other - leaving the 4 children 'totally unprovided for'  as the paper said.

Now the details are:

Thomas    Patrick    bn 1823 son of David Patrick  and Ann and his wife Susannah nee Burwell
they lived in Clipston Northants and married in 1845..
Thomas was a Tailor by trade.

Sadly the newspaper clippings I found show them dying within weeks of each other and leaving the children destitute.
the children are
Sarah bn 1846 --  not found in 1861 but found in 1871 as a servant.

Lavernia bn 1848   and as yet not found after death of parents... still looking

Sophia  bn 1850 not found in 1861 but shown as a nursemaid in 1871

George bn 1852  haven't got in 1861 again, but found him throughout the rest of his life... He becomes a Shoemaker and marries a Sarah - moves to Leicester and has two children George and Nellie.  The 1901 shows him with another daughter Florence.  Says he is Married but no wife shown.

I haven't the 1911 yet but he must have died as I have written a death of 1901 for him.

But where were the poor kids in 1861  - had they gone to the 'Workhouse'  bless them all and did Lavernia die... and what killed both the parents at the same time...

I have been searching the web for clues - was it Influenza or something..

just so bloomin sad  :( :(
