Sandra thank you for the info supplied.
How can I confirm that this William Caldwell is the correct William I am chasing, dates all appear correct. is there any way I can look up his death certificate to confirm his parents.
the roots chat background Midlothian message started from me.
If I contacted the funeral home where Marguerite service was held, do you think they would pass on any contact details.
fraser- alexander fraser and margaret mcbain, scotland

Your very welcome.  It might be worth contacting the funeral home, you can only ask  ;)

There are no Central registries/indexes in Canada for BMDs.  Canada has very strict privacy laws and each province imposes its own even further.  Additionally, some provinces are more research friendly than others so researching in Canada can be challenging. Death certificates can be released if the death occurred more than 20 years ago and the deceased would be 75 years of age or more.
Perhaps this link is worth a read.
