Thanks David
Read and digested,-  will hold on for a bit to see if anyone by chance has Electoral Rolls for period 1919 to 1924  looking for a Wilson at that address ( have him there with wife in 1924 ) and was thinking ( fuzzy logic ) wife might have been in that address previous (James  staying with in laws ).
Wife's initials  ( as next of kin on Declaration of passengers for S.S.Columbia) where  M.S.H., but cannot find a marriage for anyone with that handle between  1911 when he was unmarried and 1924 when he was !

Thanks again and have a nice summer while we await Winter

Do James and MSH have any children?
Their birth cert would fill you in on her name and maiden name.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Thanks Lizdb

That is one that I would like to find out, but since it is after life's cut off date I cannot find out, since he was only 24 yrs old at that  time , no one on last census would tie in.

Now I am wondering if with a three letter handle, if in fact the last letter might be the lady's maiden or do you think I am way off track ?

Sorry, I don't quite follow!

If there was a child, when/where was he born? If England and Wales then whenever it was (pre or post census era) his birth cert will give you MSH's name .......

Hello again Lizdb

I am trying to work forward in time, and only know, due to the above passenger declaration that he even had a wife.

OK I'm with you now.

So what do you know about James? Does he have a middle name? He was single in 1911 I take it, yet married to MSH by 1924. Any other "sightings" of him between the two dates?
Where was he last found? Any occupation on shipping record? Who were the rest of his family (parents siblings etc), has he been found anywhere on any of their records with any more info? (eg in a parents Will )

Parents were Thomas Wilson b. 1855, who in 1872 married Eleanor Robertson, by the census date they still had seven out of nine children living, the eldest Mary Emma married in 1900  George Elsdon Capstaff an Engineer in Walker on Tyne Shipyard, and at the latest census date James was living with them and working in the same  Shipyard as a 'Rigger' - he was not ( as far as can be seen a Mariner) he was in fact being sent out by the shipyard on contract.
