Hello Catherine

My g-g-g-g grandfather John Sherry was born in Dublin around 1792 and by 1822 had married and found his way to Paddington, London where the Sherry family have been until my generation. From the 1851 census, I know he was a tailor and he died in 1855. Until now I had understood there to be little chance of finding out any more about his family. I know this is a really long shot but do you think there is any more that can be discovered.

Thanks in advance

Dawn

Hi Catherine,
Would it be possible to look up in the Dublin 1851 census for Edward Joseph Norton who was born there circa 1843 and would therefore be aged approx. eight. Any information would be most welcome, Regards, Al

Hiya

Could you check the Ireland gro birth indexes for 1895 to see if there is a birth of Grosvenor Ashford Clarke or Ashford Clarke.

Plus are there any phone directories for Dublin for 1919.
I am looking for any of the following people.

Grosvenor Ashford Clarke or Ashford Clarke
William and Elizabeth Littlejohns.

Lastly my great great grandmother Elizabeth Ada Littlejohns named above  was an actress in the theatre. Her stage name was Vida Varrell. In may 1919 she was performing on stage in Dublin (theatre unknown) when she collapsed and was rushed to hospital. She later died. I would of thought this would of hit the papers. So anything on that would be great. I really hope to be able to get to Dublin myself at some time in the future, but live in Leicestershire so it is a bit difficult.

Anything you can do to help with any of the above would be great.

regards,

Siobhan

Hello
I would be most grateful if you could please look up the family below on any of 1881, 1891 and 1901 Dublin census' as I am desperate to put some birth years on the children, particularly my grandfather, James, as I would like to obtain a birth certificate.  It would also help me to establish an approx. date for the marriage to enable me to obtain that certificate too.

Their address in 1895 was Ballon St, Dublin according to Steven's birth certificate. that has just come to light with a relative!  At some point later they were living at 21 Lw Wellington St, Dublin (possibly early 1900's)

JOSEPH & MARY POLLARD   Children as folows:

JOSEPH POLLARD
STEVEN POLLARD b. 1895
CHRISTOPHER POLLARD
JAMES POLLARD  (my grandfather)
MARGARET MARY POLLARD
ALICE BRIDGET POLLARD (b 1892 emigrated to USA)
THOMAS POLLARD
FRANK POLLARD
SHEILA POLLARD

Many thanks
Teresa
