Hi all
While looking for my Cutts family from Rivenhall in
Essex on the 1861 census I noticed that there was a
grandson living with them at the time who was born in
Scotland!
There is no mention on the census page of just where in Scotland he might have been born to help me find him.
Can anyone recommend a good web- site for Scottish research along the lines of English Origins and have you any tips on how to proceed in research from a distance?
The family were as follows;
Tollgate House, Rivenhall, Essex
RG 9-1106-88-9
Jasper Cutts - head - mar - 54 - ag lab - Essex,
Rivenhall
Ann Cutts - wife - mar - 57 - Essex, Rivenhall
Hannah Cutts - daughter - unmarried - 26- Essex,
Rivenhall
Eliza Cutts - daughter - unmarried - 22- Essex,
Rivenhall
Emma Cutts - daughter - unmarried - 17 - Essex,
Rivenhall
Maria Cutts - daughter - unmarried - 13- Essex,
Rivenhall
George Cutts - son - 11- unmarried - Essex, Rivenhall
Frank Cutts - grandson - 15 - Scotland
You will note the absence of a married daughter or a son old enough to be his father.
I would be grateful for any thoughts on this one.
Regards
Carol
