Detective Sergeant Matthew McLoughlin 1879-1916 Police looking for family

I would have thought so but they probably just had his wife and mother at the time he died in 1916.
His record shows that his mother looked for support after he died as only his widow received anything at the time.

From reading the article I can only assume that they have searched as much as they could and are now hoping for relatives to come forward with links to prove who they are.  Posted here there is a possibility that some may see this when searching for something else

Re Ancestry online tree John Mcloughlin b. 1872 married Elizabeth Fegan with a son Michael Paul who may have been in RUC Rostrevor Co Down.
However going by this marriage cert it was possibly John McLoughlin who was in RIC stationed in Westmeath and who married Elizabth Fegan in Rostrevor R.c. church in 1912.

I checked the marriage and this John's Father was Patrick and his Mother was Maguire.

Dont know if this has any relevance to this search but may be of general interest anyway.

I dont have any precise details unfortunately but there was a priest at one time who refused to acknowledge there was a surname "Moloughney".  Said they should be McLoughlins.  It was from a Moloughney that I heard this.  All this priests "Moloughney" baptisms were registered by him as "McLoughlin"!
