School name, Addison Road Rugby

Slightly off-topic but related to my family history - can anyone remember what the infant school was called on Addison Road, Rugby? It was an old Victorian-style school, where I attended until 1978 when we moved house to Bilton - I know it then merged with St Oswalds School. I can't find any info on it - it's now sheltered housing, but used to be a school with classrooms in a ring, with the hall in the middle - toilets were in a separate block outside, as was the school dinner hall. Can anyone tell me the name of the school?

St. Oswald's is the only school on Addison Rd. you can find it on Google Earth.

Yes, St Oswalds is the only school now - the other school used to be the infant school, which then fed into St Oswalds, which was a junior school.

The infant school closed in the early 1980s (possibly late 1970s) and St Oswalds junior school then took in infants and juniors, as it does now. The infant school definitely wasn't called St Oswalds - they were two separate schools at the time.  The infant school was on the other side of the road, down towards Lawford Road - it's now sheltered housing (the school building was knocked down).

What is the name of the sheltered housing?

Phone up St Oswalds   and ask them  for the name  of the old Infants school.

The sheltered housing is lots of bungalows on a new road - no specific name as such (other than the road name, which isn't the school name). I'll try phoning the school - with a bit of luck they might have some info on the old school - thanks!

I used to live on Murray Road  in about 1968, and before that I lived at Coton House

That's a great map - totally different now! I used to live on Jubilee Street and Victoria Street and they are still exactly the same.
