Matilda Tattersall nee Buckley
« on: Saturday 21 January 17 21:17 GMT (UK) »
Hello all, I hope all is well for you, IM new here so please forgive me if I make a mistake, I am searching for ANY info on the above named, my 2 x Great Grandmother, I have her as born in Clitheroe in around 1853, she is living with Emanuel Tattersall  by the 1888 census, her children are born from 1881, Ellen ( although Ellens mothers maiden name as on GRO could be Settle) then Albert Edward, Thomas, Mary Hannah, then in onwards from 1891 is Sarah, Henry aka Harry and Emmanual then on there is Ida born 1896, all of them have the  birth registration of mothers maiden name being Buckley, I can find hardly anything on Matilda, I believe I have her on the 1911 census living in Bacup with Mary  ( I think her daughter ) and William Tranter but again IM desperately searching her parents and also the the death of Emanuel , her *husband* is nowhere to be found too, do I start a different topic for him? thanks so much for reading folks :)

I didnt think of that lol, I dont process info well at all, for Ellen, her first child, I could find a Buckley for her on GRO but I found a Settle, Albert follows close after and he is my great grandfather, i started this on knowing near nothing, my dads mum, Gladys May Tattersall passed away very young and he couldn't even tell me her name so, Ive got Emanuels link confirmed he was born 1847, Greenbooth, Rochdale, ive got lots on his brothers and father, Ive just got his bcert and it has a name crossed out and the name Emanuel written underneath and he seems to be down as possibly Edmund on the 1851 census,  and he was in the army by 1871 and also stayed in Fleetwood around that time but there is little else I can find on him, Im going to investigate Matilda from Blackburn :) thank you :)

This may be a long shot but in 1861 in Ruabon, Denbighshire, Wales, we have;
John Mahaty, 36
Elizabeth Mahaty, 44
Mary J Mahaty, 12
Edward Buckley, 23, Unm, Lodger
Ann Buckley, 23, Unm, Lodger
Matilda Buckley, 1, born Manchester****

MATILD Buckley Christened 4 March 1860, Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire, England
Mother ANN

And another Matilda;

1871 Census
James Greenwood, 48
Ann Greenwood, 43
Joseph Greenwood, 20
James Greenwood, 14
Nancy Greenwood, 10
Mary Greenwood, 8
Ellenor A Greenwood, 4
John T Greenwood, 2
Mathilda Buckley, 11, Wifes Daug, born Kearsley, Lancashire****
Thomas Ashton   2

James Married Ann Buckley 1865 (FreeBMD)

My point is that there are a few Matildas around and the M/C is a important to get if they did marry.
