Hi,

I'm hoping someone may be able to find a birth for my grandmother Jessie Frances Etherington as I have spent many years trying to find it!

Her parents were Frederick Henry Etherington and Esther Jane Garrett but they did not marry until 1893 - so perhaps she isn't really an Etherington after all!

I believe Esther is the daughter of Thomas Garrett and Elizabeth Workman born in 1860 in Tetbury.

I have tried searching for Jessie with a surname of Garrett but have had no luck so if anyone can break down my brick wall for me that would be amazing!

No I haven't been able to find her or her mother in 1891.

I believe her father Thomas died in 1887 and her mother Elizabeth in 1904.

I've just seen your 'added' - does that mean you've found her in 1891?

She is a Cook in the household of Francis and Mary Wilkinson, Chelsea. He is the Vicar of St John’s Chelsea.

It's possibly that is her and she went home to have Jessie but I still can't find a birth for Jessie!

What is the source of her exact dob?

Did she marry Albert Austin (in Edmonton, 1912) and live (& die) in Slough/Windsor? 

If so, an alternative birthdate seems to be 15 October 1889.

Yes she did marry Albert Austin in Edmonton, I have obviously picked up an incorrect dob but I still can't find her birth registration which is frustrating!

Where are you picking up the dob of 15 Oct 1889 from please?
