Catherine,

Thanks for that info!

Have since found on IGI that Louisa's husband may be Samuel Howard as well  ---  but finding confusion and variance between BMD, and IGI extracted and member submittals  -- so what else is new??

Illusive husband not around for 2 different census reports ---
interesting??

Thanks again!

Birth of Samuel King Howard - might give a fathers name -

Samuel King Howard June 1861 Manchester Vol 8d Page 172

I was also looking for the father guessing his name was Samuel and the only one I could come up with was an inmate "imbecile from birth" in a workhouse on the outskirts of Manchester !! (1871 census)

Catherine,  here's what I found for Son Samuel  --

BMD: Samuel King Howard b. June Qtr, 1861 Manchester

IGI Ext.: Samuel King Howard c. Mar 9, 1862, Cathedral, Manchester

BMD: Samuel King Howard m. June, 1881 in Bradford, W. Riding to either:
           Rachel Longthorn
           Emily Whitely

IGI Member Submittal:  Samuel Henry Howard. b. 1860 Manchester m. Rachel Longthorne May 28, 1881 at St. Peters, Bradford
Father:  Samuel Howard  Mother:  Louisa

Found Rachel in 1881 Yorkshire census  --  she is 14 yr. old servant in the home of a Reverend

Emily in 1881 in Yorkshire 16 at year old dau of a mill worker

Hoping 1861 census may provide something more definitive??

Thanks again!
