This will find his Birth registered as you can see in Binghamstown district...

You'll need to look at any other Certs you have to see where they lived when Registering BDM's

Doesn’t Binghamstown Registration District cover Belmullet?

I had a look at the marriages but couldn't see anything for Patrick Henry Reilly and Maria Gallagher upto 1867.

Looks like there is a wealth of info in that site so I will look for other family members too - thank you again for the link.

Obviously, as you don't know where she was from you'd have to search for her marriage "somewhere" so you'd need a basic search with no district IF she Married after Civil Reg started and they registered it, but will need to wait until next update "due soon"

There is this marriage but with few details in Belmullet parish

Looks as though it is October 21st 1860 - bottom right hand page

Pat Reily and Maria Gallaher

If that is your family, there would be children earlier than your findings, I think.

No,   Belmullet is where the Superintendent's Office was!

Registers from Binghamstown Reg Office would be sent to Belmullet every quarter of year.

Their nearest Reg Office was Binghamstown.

Belmullet covers Belmullet  ;D

Using Catholic nli site, https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0742  you might want to check:

Michl Reilly bap 12th January 1864 mmn Gallaher

I hwven’t looked on the site but found it on Ancestry. The registers are quite difficult to follow.

It is quiet near Belmullet so I reckon covers most of the townlands on headland and nearby islands.

As you see Bangor Erris Reg office which is miles away is also part of Belmullet Superintendant's area
