This looks quite possible to be the University Graduate record for your man

The page doesn't give a lot of info but the 'contact us' link takes you to an online enquiry form, so that may result in further details (an email costs nothing and often gets results, give it a go - shy bairns get nowt!)

Thank you Boo so very much for all your research...these are diamonds and help to build up a picture of my gt. uncle and his family...might be able to follow up now on younger generations - maybe even find some are still living in the area there.

Thank you again....

Pleased I could help a little.
If you have access to old newspapers (BNA or FindMyPast) you may find snippets for other family members (or sometimes your local library or archives will have access via their pcs).

Good luck with the search!

Ancestry have Freemasons membership registers, I can see a possible earliest entry (though there are later lists he seem to appear on) for him being initiated into the Royal Sussex Lodge of Hospitality, Bristol on Sept 12 1888, aged 26, occupation Surgeon, address was Fishponds.

Before you search read the 'about the records' just below the search panel. I needed to as I know less than zilch about Freemasonry and it helped me to understand what I was seeing
