Hello, I am hoping someone may be able to help with my 3rd gr grandfather.  According to 1851 and 1861 census he was born in Morven, Argyleshire about 1820.  Lachlan McKinnon.  He married Elizabeth Howe on 19 March 1849 in Dunbartonshire.  Their daughter Elizabeth b 1854 is my 2nd gr grandmother.  I have found a death of Lachlan McKinnon 21 Dec 1865, Calton, Glasgow which says he was married to Elizabeth Howe.  It shows his parents as Hugh McKinnon and Mary.  No matter what I put into Scotlandspeople I can't find a Lachlan born to a Hugh and Mary between 1815 and 1825.  I believe I have also found Lachlan in an 1841 census which also gives his birth date approx. 1820.  The 1851 and 1861 census say Lachlan was a shoemaker.  His death in 1865 says he was a lamplighter.  If anyone can throw any light on this family I would be appreciative of your help.

On the DC does it give MS for Mary & who was the informant?

Can you list all their children in order please which may help?

Hi again - yes I have considered Hugh and Flory.  I have enlarged the death cert in the hope Mary may actually be Flory, but comparing capital 'F's' elsewhere on the death cert - it doesn't work.  Hugh McKinnon is noted on Lachlan's death cert as a Bleachfield Labourer and deceased by 1865 as was Mary when Lachlan died. Lachlan's wife Elizabeth McKinnon was the notifier on the death cert.  I have their children as Dugald b 1849, Mary b 1851, Hugh b 1852, Elizabeth b 1854, John b 1856, Agnes b 1858, Donald b 1860, Lachlan b 1862 and Jane b 1865.

I note the baptism records in Morven on SP start at 1803 and there are McKinnon's but only two 1815 - 1825.
