John Thomas of Caepontpren

Hi

On the off chance I wondered if anyone had come across John Thomas of Caepontpren before. I have little on him except that he is listed as a beneficiary and nephew of John Treharne of Glynsylen in John's will from 1825. Therefore presumably a son of Unknown Treharne (John's sister) and an Unknown Thomas. More info on him might help resolve family relationships

John Thomas of Van is interesting, as a possible son of John, William, also has associations with this address. William’s addresses were described Van, Plasbach and Plasbach Van Issa. There are also family associations with Minke as William’s brother John lived at Minke Mawr

It is difficult to know where John Thomas was married, even born, as Pontyates is associated with Llangendeirne/Llangyndeyrn. It is a very large area. On Genuki, the only Anglican/Church of Wales offered for Pontyates is St Cyndeyrn, Llangyndeyrn. Looking around 1800, there are only two options in Pontyates, two in Pontyberem and then Crwbin, Llangyndeyrn. There are plenty of baptisms, but no marriages for John Thomas.

I did notice Van and Minke thinking there could be a link.
