Looking for Liu H Kven (may also be known as Hing Kuen Liu)

Good afternoon,

I have previously visited RootsChat to search for information on my great grandfather John Anderson* and am now searching for another family member. I am now looking for my grandfather either known as Liu H Kven or Hing K Liu. Liu married my grandmother Doreen Anderson in East Ham in 1964, in the same year my mother was born.

Hi AVM,

Doreen passed away when my mother was still young and by this point Liu had already left the family home. My mum entered the care system rather than being placed with her father Liu which would fit in with this. Doreen did tell my mum Liu had passed away but we've never been able to confirm or disprove this. Liu would have been around 21 in 1964 so he'd be in his late seventies were he to be alive today. I'm not really sure how to proceed with this one. Unfortunately, there are very few surviving records from my mother's time in the care system and having never met my grandmother or grandfather it's incredibly difficult to find any information.

That's correct. Although the number of children is unclear. I have already obtained a copy of their marriage certificate. I have also reviewed Doreen's coroner report given to me by my mother and can confirm we're referring to the same person.

The report states "As far as it can be ascertained she was a divorced woman whose ex husband has since died".

What does the marriage certificate say about the bridegroom’s occupation and paternal details? Does it give his age, or does it just say “full age”?

Good morning,

The bridegroom's occupation is Restaurant Waiter, his father's name is given and this appears exactly the same as his name. His father's occupation also states waiter. His age is given as a number, there is no full date of birth.
