Fred Schofield Smith
« on: Sunday 07 June 20 10:57 BST (UK) »
I have little information about my great grandfather before he came to Two Dales Derbyshire. He was born at Todmorden about 1850? He called himself Frederick or Edward Schofield Smith.Any information would be welcome.

So he died as Edward Schofield Smith in 1909 and is buried on 16 October, aged 61.

Daughter baptised at Darley - 19 May 1896:

Edith Ann, born 24 January 1892, daughter of Edward Schofield and Kate of Over Hackney - ESS is a Stone Mason.

GRO give mmn of Bircumshaw for Edith Annie's registration in 1892.

Bircumshaw confirmed as mmn on Percy's birth reg

Edward is Fred Schofield Smith in 1891 and Fred in 1901 Year of birth on burial record would be 1848,

Looks like William Bircumshaw with family in 1901 is Kate's father

can't find a marriage for Fred / Edward to Kate either. Nor a birth registration for first child Ernest.
