Okay I have given some further thought, in fact endless thought to this.
I have a theory of who his parents might be, hopefully someone can prove me wrong or right about this.
Andrew Kitchen was born in 1824-, although I cannot find his death, I can account for his two wives and many children.
The following was sent to me by Anita Labinski, president of the Memphis Historical Society:
A little interesting story- I was doing some research for another person and came across info in the 1925 "History of the East Michigan Conference of the Free Methodist Church" by Rev. M. DeVoist. It listed the charter members of the Chapel Society, and I remembered the "Kitchen" name among them.
Quotes- (pg. 154) "Under the labors of Rev. C. H. Sage... several persons...were converted..." and, "The neighborhood was situated about three miles distant, in a northeasternly direction." Which was at Lamb Rd. and Memphis Ridge (M-19).
And, "A partial list of the charter members at the Chapel were: ...Andrew Kitchen; Matilda Kitchen; Thomas Kitchen; Mary Kitchen and others."
Back to Andrew's line on our Tree, thankfully no Thomas Kitchen currently appears.
Their parents are Henry B Kitchen 1797-1883 and Mary Drake 1806-1862.
Now even better news for the year of 1828 I have no entries of any children for them.
Either side yes, Jonathan 1827 and Ester Ann 1829.
So I think that the Thomas Kitchen that Andrew Kitchen knew down in Michigan, is indeed his brother.
