National Archives website help, please
« on: Saturday 07 November 20 15:08 GMT (UK) »
By email and now telephone, I'm trying to help someone Request a Quote for the NA to copy some documents.  The NA has reduced it's copying service and it's only open for requests to be made from 3pm on Fridays until midnight Sundays.

I've sent him the link to the documents he wants, but when he clicks on it (during "opening hours") he gets something about Reading Room rules, whereas I get a page that is the next one in the ordering process, and then the next one where I can put the item in my "basket" etc.

I've suggested that he clear his cashe, but he can't tell me which browser he's using, so I'm stumped.

Anyone have any other ideas, please?

Thanks
STG

That Site is much easier to use if you Register, I’ve found.

I have registered with the NA and used the currently-free downloads option quite a few times recently, but wasn't signed in when I followed the link to the documents he wants, so I don't see that, essentially, it should have been any different for me than for him.

Why not post the details for someone else to try, might be the easiest way to answer your question?

Is he pressing "order in advance" (which takes you to the reading room information) or "Request a copy" which takes you to the ordering information
