My apologies to everyone who replied to my post, especially those of you who went to the trouble of restoring the photo. I haven't posted on Rootschat for a while. When I did so before I received emails to tell me that I had received a reply to my post. It was just by chance that I discovered your replies. Many many thanks.
I will attach photos of my grandfather but I doubt if he was ever a telegram boy. We come from a mining family.
My other thought was that it was that it might be this boy, but again I am probably wrong.

Such a very sad story. The attached card has been passed down through the family. The Wotherspoons were good neighbours of my grandparents in Baillieston..
I will try to find out if any cousins worked for the GPO. Following a lead in the past I searched for a "cousin" who "rose to be head of the Post Office in Edinburgh" but have never found him.
The photo I have also attached which includes my grandfather dates from around 1922.
My post with attachments received an error message so I have removed them.
