You mention sister-in-law Alice McAleery (reply 80) - edited to add Mary O'Reilly could be Alice's daughter, she is named as May on Divorce Petition born 10th May 1904

There was a brief mention of Alice RILEY nee Pim’s divorce by her husband in 1911 (reply 31)
Not mentioned was the co- respondent’s surname McAlery

Also not sure if this was mentioned somewhere on the thread - possibly Alice travelling to SA

Mrs A J McAlery Age: 63
Departure 22 Mar 1951
Departure Port:   England
Ship Name:   Llangibby Castle
Destination Port:   Cape Town, South Africa

I recently signed up doing research on family and came across this old post. I am Christopher Robinson, grandson of Maidie Scott. She and my grandfather John Francis Mac Gregor had Pamela?before they had my mother Mary Diana and her twin John Francis. Even though she would have been my aunty nothing was mentioned by the family? After returning to England after a performing tour to Australia in 1925 my grandmother divorced JF Mac Gregor due to her having had him investigated whilst away and unearthed his infidelity. She married Noel Yeo Robertson and emigrated to South Africa with my mother and her twin brother. They had their names changed from Mac Gregor to Robertson .My sister and I are the only surviving grandchildren.

Hi, Ludachris,

Thankyou for posting this information.

My computer is in for repairs and has all my information for her either on it, or saved elsewhere not accessible at the moment.

I am no nearer finding a birth for Miranda and I do not know if any others are.  Perhaps Horsham Union records might be available somewhere to see if any mention of her there.

Just for others : Pamela was the MacGregor/Pim birth in 1921 in Axbridge, whilst the twins were born in 1922 in Pancras.

The Pamela born in 1921 has parents Duncan Norton Murray MacGregor and Monica Lucy nee Pim/Pym, and so an unrelated family.

My mother never discussed the issue of Pamela? I still have newspaper articles from the 1970’s where someone reached out to my mother thinking she was her sister. I think she was called Mary Startop from the Romsey Vicarage. My grandmother’Maidie Scott’ was first married to Alfred Scott Dodd who was her manager. She was divorced from Scott Dodd after he found out of her affair with my grandfather John Mac Gregor .
