Helen DENTON 1857-?
« on: Friday 21 May 21 03:15 BST (UK) »
Thomas Charles DENTON married Helen WHITE in 1877 at Oxford, Canterbury. They had a number of children in that area before moving to the Kiwitea/Kimbolton area and then to Waiata near Colyton.

Thomas died in Palmerston North in 1910, with no mention of a wife in his will. A couple of online trees have her death in 1894 but they had a child in 1895 so that would be rather difficult.

There is an un-named DENTON buried in the Kimbolton Cemetery, with no dates or other details. Just wondering if it is her or is it their son Garry who died in 1892 aged 3. According to school records the other children were at Birmingham (Kimbolton) school around that time.

Can anyone find Helen anywhere. On a couple of the birth registrations she is Ellen.

Many thanks.
Ian C

Annie could be an error in reporting perhaps?

also I see she was Nellie on one of the birth regs.

There were two Garrys, one just Garry 1888-1892 and the other Garry Edward 1895-1949.

If the wife was still around in 1900 then it is probably not her in the Kimbolton Cemetery.

Thanks

Easily done Mckha, I found the 2nd but not the first in the beginning.

Just speaking outside the box, to find Helen/Ellen, would getting one of the children's marriage/death certs help, might give a clue if she remarried/died etc.
