Here (England) that is still, I think, mandatory. PM Johnson, however, did not wear one for some time on a hospital visit and various explanations were offered.
There are several examples where our leaders have not lead by example with words such as ‘advisable’ being used rather than compulsory.
As mask wearing can be uncomfortable, I suppose the option not to do so was/is chosen.
I wonder too how many single use masks are re-used and how many cloth masks are washed or replaced as advised.
If not, does that diminish their effectiveness?
