My original posting has been modified to exclude the original person referred to who may still be living. William Egerton Roberts was the father of the original named one and I do have a name and address for the child taken from William's death registration which I will pass to anybody who wishes to message me. Please can anybody who responded to my original posting remove the personal details of the child therefrom
William was my uncle. He grew up in Conwy Workhouse together with his sister Gweneth (who I have previously posted about). These children were 'lost' to their parents (My grandparents) and apparently grew up wrongly believing themselves to be orphans
William was born in the Swansea area on 11/11/1908. His registered name was Geoffrey William but the 'Geoffrey' seems to have been dropped while he was in the Workhouse. He seems to have 'adopted' the name 'Egerton' from an older brother who died in the same workhouse.
I have discovered that he and Gweneth remained in contact in later life and that he married Annie Jones of Holyhead in Llanbeglig on 12/09/1938. In the 1939 register they are living in Caernarvon with two closed entries at the same address: possibly their children
