I'm trying to locate Hugh Hulme (1869-1927) and his wife Martha Sarah Hulme (1870-1924) in the 1921 census but can't seem to find them anywhere! Does anyone have any suggestions?

The family lived in Wilmslow, Cheshire their whole life, and from my research & on the electoral registers during the 1920's Hugh and Martha are living at Fern Lea, Gravel Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire. They also have another house on Oak Lane, Wilmslow. Hugh was a farmer and joiner.

During the 1920's a lot of their children lived with them:

Harry Hulme, born 1894
William Hulme, born 1902
Charles Hulme, born 1898 + his wife Jane Olive and son Richard born 1920.
Richard Hulme, born 1900
Ralph Hulme, born 1905
Herbert Hulme, born 1910
Robert Hulme, born 1912

I've tried searching with wildcards, using just the first name & date of birth etc, using just the address, searching by occupation etc, but I can't find them anywhere!

Maybe not much help but have you tried variants Hume, Home, Holm, Holme etc. & also, if you know Ralph was still alive in 1921 have you found him, being a less common name?

Annie
South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland:- Bowie, Campbell, Cumming, Currie

Ireland:- Cullen, Flannigan (Derry), Donahoe/Donaghue (variants) (Cork), McCrate (Tipperary), Mellon, Tol(l)and (Donegal & Tyrone)

Thank you for the suggestions! I had a quick search with the variants and can't find anything yet but spend more time looking.

Have you tried searching for the address on the 'Address search'

I think 1911 index has address as North Oak Lane

Getting desperate .

Get the gravel * addresses in Wilmslow and look at the names in each household? (No surname shows)
Can be quicker if you know what housenames/ numbers are the neighbours

Same for oak lane
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Done that already lol, spent ages going through each of the names but nothing stood out, I was able to find their neighbours but can't find this house/house name. Hugh Hulme's mother Mary Hulme lived just a few doors up on Gravel Lane and she shows on the 1921 census, but they don't seem to be anywhere!
