Now, I absolutely cannot find where/when JWW immigrated, I assume he came first but THIS IS MY BIGGEST QUANDRY??

All help greatly appreciated and I thank you for your responses and time.

Can I ask where you got Oldham - I can only find one John William Winterbottom born Lancashire in 1861

I think Saddleworth comes under the Oldham Registration - so that may be it - but he was born in Springfield Cottages ,Roughtown Lancashire and was in fact Dec 1860
